Simon studied Chemistry at King’s College London and then worked in IT for 10 years in the City of London, before taking Bible College training at All Nations Christian College and joining Wycliffe Bible Translators.
Simon has worked with Wycliffe for 20 years, initially in Ethiopia where, with his wife Lynn, he set up a translation project. He subsequently served for six years as Branch Director. In both these roles he built strong national friendships, which enabled him to hand over responsibilities to Ethiopian successors. Simon then served for two years as Director for Partnerships with Wycliffe Africa Area, supporting emerging African-led Wycliffe organisations across East and West Africa. In 2010 he and Lynn returned to the UK to pursue further study at Redcliffe. Between 2011 and 2012, he facilitated the creation of the new Centre for Linguistics,Translation and Literacy at Redcliffe as the UK expression of Wycliffe Bible Translators' European Training Programme.
Simon plays the piano to relax, enjoys slow driving – exploring new places, and loves winter walks in Northumberland with Lynn and their two adult children.
