This three-day course aims to teach everything from program installation to more advanced topics.
We teach the latest version of Paratext. This course will help those who are new to
the program and need to be taught how to use it from scratch, but we go to
quite an advanced level, including Hebrew and Greek search tools, so it also
suits intermediate users of the program.
We also teach project sharing
(‘send and receive’), how to use the parallel passages tool, and checking tools
such as how to create a word list. You do not have to know Hebrew and Greek to
be able to take the course.
You will need a laptop computer running Windows or Linux to take part in this course. If you have a Mac you should be able to install Paratext in a virtual Windows machine (using Boot Camp Assistance is the best way), which you need to purchase and get running beforehand.
Those attending the Translation Course in February-March should plan to attend the course
unless they have had previous training in how to use Paratext.
Even then we advise taking the course, as it is probably much more advanced
than the training you have previously received.
The Paratext Workshop will run from 28 - 30 January 2019.
Application Deadline: 14 January
