Wherever you live and work as a Christian, cultural perceptions and practices associated with human identity will impact your Christian witness.
In this one week module, you will get the opportunity to explore the implications of gender issues on mission and ministry across the cultures, and develop your theological and biblical understanding of gender.
Whether you consider yourself a cross-cultural mission worker, or simply work alongside many different generations and cultures in the UK - gender is a subject that affects everything, and colours the worldviews of you and those around you. This module offers vital insight into the issues of humanness, identity and equality that are at the heart of mission and personhood.
As well as Redcliffe faculty, this module has featured guest lectures by Dr Elaine Storkey, Director of Education for the CofE Church Army, Rev Dr Ian Paul, prolific writer and theologian, Dr Lucy Peppiatt, Principal of WTC; and Mary Evans, lecturer in Old Testament and author, including her most recent commentary on Judges & Ruth.
This module is delivered as part of our MA Summer School, and is available as part of an MA, PGDip or PGCert in Contemporary Missiology; or you can take this module for non-validated audit.

In this module, students will develop their theological, biblical and cultural understanding of various gender issues, in order to enhance their mission and ministry among people of many different generations, nationalities and backgrounds.

This one-week module is available for non-validated active participation' at a cost of £625, plus a Mode of Delivery cost of £295, which includes accommodation.
Active Participation is ideal for using the module as a standalone piece of Continuing Professional Development. Active Participants have access to all course content and teaching but do not complete the written assignments.
Application deadline to be an Active Participant (see above) is 15th June 2020.
